ISŌMA

A Year-Long Practitioner Path in embodied facilitation
reorienting ancient principals into modern day practice & life. restoring the depth, pace & relational integrity of the healing arts
The practitioner path is twelve months of study, practice, personal ritual and community containment that will develop your range, depth and capacity to guide, lead and facilitate change, integration and profound healing. When we speak of the healing arts here, we don’t just mean a profession, we mean a way of walking everyday with care, reverence and responsibility.
Through deeper listening, repairing of core relational wounds, opening our senses with greater attunement and connection, restoring care and reciprocity for the Earth herself, honouring the unseen forces that govern everything, and remembering our role in reshaping the Healing Arts and Leadership back towards working in ways that are Life giving and feed the human Spirit, you are held in the very practices you are learning to guide.
online delivery, optional in-person gatherings
What is the iSōma practitioner path?
This is an immersive training in embodied facilitation, rooted in the wisdom of the old, ancient principles of healing: rhythm, cycles, ritual repetition, renewal, story, animism, Spirit and the unseen, land and the wilderness, community, relationship, reciprocity and the soma (body).
You’ll spend a year studying and applying our embodied facilitation map and its archetypes through the above principles.
We’ve designed the structure so you are worked by the cyclical energies of Life, the directions, and the seasons. If you’ve never practised in this way, you’re in for a ride, and this is exactly why we built the Path. It’s rare, but it needs to become ordinary.
Moving in rhythm with Life heals deep collective fractures. That healing takes repetition. It requires ritual, community containment, humility, courage, and time.
This translates into core capacities in facilitation, coaching, communication, threshold work, relational repair, ceremony, artistic expression, ethical leadership and clinical practice.
A year??!! Yes, it sounds long.
To the part of us conditioned by consumerism and immediacy, a year can feel like eternity.
But in my experience, if we are lucky enough to be allowed into someone’s world as a therapist, coach, teacher, leader, doctor, or healer, then a year of tending to the collective wounds we carry in the West and studying and beginning to apply ancient principles of healing for twelve months is the bare minimum.
Due to its multi-layered format, the Practitioner Path is difficult to sum up. But if I were to remove the jargon and narrow it in a little, then I would say it boils down to these three things:
#1 Healing relational wounds: self with self, self with other, self with Earth, and self with Spirit.
#2 Developing depth, range, and embodiment in guiding people through separation, into descent and threshold, and back into return/integration. Most modern work comforts, regulates, or psychologically contains suffering in people so they feel safe, powerful, or “pain-free” in the descent, preventing them from returning and renewing on the other side.
#3 Orienting our actions, as stewards of the healing arts, in ways that give back to Life and feed the Human Spirit—through study, personal application, community, and other forms of ceremony that challenge and change us deeply. Ceremony is to acknowledge our Life from a stance of reverence, even in the simple acts of our day. Especially in the simple acts, if we can.
There are plenty of 10-day, 12-week, or 6-month trainings, diplomas, and even decade-long degrees in leadership and healing, yet many lack the depth of allowing you, the practitioner, to be worked by the larger forces.
We know the only way through the collective underworld we are navigating is ensuring those who guide, assist, or practise in the healing arts are educated in the old ways.
And that people don’t get too lost in the despair, winding up helpless, apathetic or cynical, or maybe more concerning, ‘above it’.
Every step of this training happens in community. The same practices that teach you to guide others also hold you.

iSōma is an apprenticeship, grounded in over two decades of rite work, clinical depth and ceremonial tradition. It does not add more layers on top; it matures what is already within you.
Through ritual, time on Country, time in the void, personal practice, pauses for integration, and the weaving of community, your capacities are worked, tempered, and deepened. And honestly, you find lightness and ease along the path at times. Getting exhausted by our practice defeats the purpose. We will always invite you to enjoy as we walk.
