8 WEEKS LIVE & ONLINE · BEGINS MAY 6TH, 2026
mEditation as a way of being
presence = power. Let’s reclaim it. Together.
WEEKLY VIA ZOOM · LIFETIME ACCESS
It is glaringly obvious that we are at a crossroads.
Our relationship with what’s real, what’s important, and what we can and cannot do about it is….complicated.
You know this. The ‘news’ of it all is more readily available than ever.
And the question isn’t, what do I do?
It’s…
How present am I to what is actually important, not just what is pulling at my attention, and how much of me is actually available to tend to that?
If we cannot discern what we truly need to do and how to have access to enough of ourselves to do it, we will slip into collapse or panic and hit overdrive.
So let’s commit to the true practice of meditation, which is cultivating it in such a way that it is available to you at any time and useful in all things.
This course is a doorway into the restorative, nourishing, alive, benevolent, willful, spirited essence in each of us that cannot be enforced, overriden, manipulated, steered or taken away.
The agenda gets
its hook in everywhere.
Including here.
Most people bring to meditation the same posture they bring to everything else
The belief that something here needs fixing. That what is present is not enough. That the gap between where they are and where they should be is the problem to solve.
This is understandable. It is also the very thing that keeps the door closed.
When you sit down with an agenda, even a subtle one, meditation becomes another arena of self-assessment. Even here, in the quiet, there is a sense of trying to get somewhere.
Across all the great contemplative traditions, meditation was never a self-improvement strategy. It was a way of inhabiting your life. A way of coming into honest relationship with what is already here.
The traditions understood something our culture has largely forgotten: that the most powerful shift is not produced by effort. It arrives through presence.
Through sincere, unguarded, honest, presence, feeling and orientation that extends well beyond a cushion.
A journey into awareness,
presence, and authentic living
THIS MAY BE FOR YOU IF
You:
Sit down to meditate, and within a minute, you are planning tomorrow.
Have a practice. Some days it genuinely helps. You cannot make it consistent.
Can describe what happened in a therapy session or a retreat. You are less certain that you’ve felt it.
Still get reactive with people you love. You know why. It still happens.
Self-doubt still comes. You have better frameworks for it now. It still comes.
Are curious about depth. You are also genuinely tired.
Can speak fluently about your inner life. You are not sure you actually inhabit it.
Find yourself managing life from a distance more than living it directly.
Found there is an existential undercurrent that good information does not seem to touch.
Have done sincere work. And something essential has not shifted.
And then….
The fine-tuning of your ears gets sharper. Your heart gets softer.
You find a receptivity to the subtleties. To what is in the quiet beyond the noise.
You are so sure of yourself and the self trust in the decisions you are making.
You move and bend and feel without feeling like you are going to be broken.
Relationships find a greater depth. The way you relate to situations, to what is alive in your life, shifts.
Slow becomes smooth. And smooth becomes good.
You are not just present…You are not rushing around the kitchen, up the stairs, to the car, from the toilet — everywhere you go!
It becomes a doorway back to yourself.
This is Meditation as a way of being
Something sincere
has not yet landed.
an unlearning before is it is a learning
School gives you information and then tests you on it. This is the opposite. You get the experience first. The understanding emerges from within it.
Eight weeks of live teaching. A community to press against. The topics are simple and carefully sequenced. They are secondary to what becomes available when you are consistently in the presence of someone who holds absolutely no judgment of you and wants nothing from you other than for you to meet yourself honestly.
There is a permeation that occurs in someone's system when that is the quality of what they are sitting inside. It is organic. It cannot be forced or rushed. It is very underestimated, because it is something you can really only experience.
This is not a stress-reduction course. It is not a productivity tool. It is not a technique. It is a return to what meditation was always pointing toward: a way of being, rather than a way of improving.
You do not have to be in crisis to be here.
You do not have to be broken, damaged, or at rock bottom. Stagnation and disconnection happen to the most sincere practitioners. The most capable and self-aware people carry this. Most of us have learned to relate to our inner life as a project. That is not a character flaw. It is a cultural inheritance.
Stagnation is not a personal failing. The system simply needs a different quality of support than effort and information can provide.
No particular belief system is required. Only sincerity, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to slow down.
what this course
explores
Meditation as Awareness
We reframe meditation as a natural capacity rather than a skill to perfect. You learn to recognise awareness as your primary ground. Stable, present, already here.
Why Stillness Can Feel Threatening
Slowing down surfaces what movement has kept at bay. We explore why the interior can feel unfamiliar or unsafe, and how safety develops through experience rather than understanding.
The Nature of Mind, Ego, and Persona
You learn to differentiate between awareness and mind, ego and function, persona and essence — allowing each to take its rightful place without suppression or inflation.
Crafting the Field
Meditation is relational. We explore how attention shapes experience, how coherence emerges, and how presence reorganises perception and conduct.
Gathering Attention & Entering the Slipstream
Attention gathered without force. A steadiness that does not narrow or strain. A quality of practice that carries you rather than being driven by effort.
The Art of Presence
Awareness lived through the body, breath, work, and relationship. Practice integrated into ordinary life.
Lineage and Living Transmission
Meditation arises from ancient streams of wisdom. We trace lineages not as historical references, but as living transmissions that continue to shape serious practice.
Relative and Absolute Reality
We examine the paradox of the human and the divine, of form and formlessness, of time and timelessness and what it means to live without splitting them.

Our Team
about amber hawken
Amber brings a developmental and relational lens to meditation. Her background integrates psychotherapy training, attachment theory, somatic practice, and Rites of Passage work. She speaks to the conditions that make stillness complex for many people, including hyper-attunement, arousal patterns, and cultural dislocation.
Her role in this course includes teaching on safety, embodiment, and the psychological terrain surrounding contemplative practice. Her teaching invites steadiness.
about kurt iwanina

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. This course does not assume you have an established practice. It assumes you are sincere and willing to slow down. Both beginners and long-term practitioners find this work genuinely meets them where they are.
-
No. Stress reduction may be a byproduct. It is not the orientation. This course is concerned with something prior to stress: the relationship between you and your own inner life, and what happens when that relationship changes.
-
Yes. All sessions are recorded and uploaded within 24 hours. You have lifetime access.
-
This is for people who have done sincere work and sense that something essential has not yet settled. The orientation here is not toward more information or more technique. It is toward a different quality of presence with yourself. Many people find it genuinely unlike what they have encountered before.
-
Connection and resource sharing between participants. It is not a space for mentoring or personal processing.
